Friday and Cloudy

The high for the day was 72 from Alamosa, 70 as far as I saw on our thermometer. Cloudy but no rain, just sprinkles. We decided to stay another month here as its hot everywhere else. Here, its cool during the day and cooler at night. If its hot where you are, come to the mountains and enjoy cool weather.

Thursday and its Raining, Again

A view under the rv at the rear to show the wiring for future use in the trees. There is a pig tail from the bulkhead fitting on this side of the wall to attach the 50 foot wiring too.

The other "thing" you see is the rest of our dolley.

And for dinner we are having salmon croquets with some for tomorrow and later. HMMMM good! DW does a good job of cooking and keeping
our weight down with well planned meals.

Another view of the two tripods, and the other stuff. I'm standing in the empty space 15 taking this picture.

The weather forecast for the next five days. How hot are you compared to Denver?

Here is the DVR in its home in my shirt closet. Without a land line, we can only record the program being watched and being totally unable to watch another channel at the same time. This will mean that the DVR will go back and we will get a regular receiver like in the front. We will have the same problem in front with the vcr, recording only that which we are seeing.
Our K-D is a single lnb and that is probably the big problem.

And my DW looking at the tv schedule on her laptop and surfing the channels too. She does hate it when I take her picture. She is starting to write down her favorite channels as I will.

Yes, Jean, DW is Dear Wife and DH is Dear Husband. We will be in DFW in Oct seeing DR. Won't make Stanton, AZ then.

Now the tale of the temp. As you can see, its cool. If you can't make it out its, 3:30 pm and 68. Thru the window please notice the lack of sunshine. Its cloudy with ................

And I got the golf channel! Ahhhhhhh.

Tuesday with TV

Its all done, pics tomorrow though. The installer got here and with the tripod up he found the satellite. We then discussed what I wanted done and he got it done. I had the DVR put in the bedroom and a wire run down and behind the drawers on the back wall. I had a hole drilled and a bulkhead fitting installed to access the tripod. DW has her own tv satellite and a DVR.

In the front, we had the King-Dome already getting a signal from the satellite and the tv running, but we were not activated. Nothing was done here but will be later. I have a 50 foot wire to use for the tripod when we cant use the K-D. I will do a similar arrangement in front as was done in the back. All this to use the tripod.

After all this, there was nothing to watch. We did not get any pay movie channels, HBO, etc. Just to much money. We will go to the movie rental store if necessary. There are enough free movie channels to watch vs paying to see some of the same. Besides, the movies we have to watch today are mostly terrible. We went with the total choice plus plan at $45.99 plus the adder for the DVR. With all the taxes, I am looking for a $70 bill monthly. The price of a little luxery.

Tuesday

We had our usual rain yesterday late. Not alot but it did sprinkle into the night. I went to the lumber yard and got a 36" lg 1-1/4" sch 40 PVC pipe for the tripod. The fence pipe needed is not available here in Pagosa Springs. The tripod is setup and awaiting the installer to arrive between 1-2 pm. We have the tv on running from the King-Dome. We will use the tripod setup when we are unable to get a signal due to trees.

The first pic is of the rec in the overhead bin.
We have a DVR coming with the installer. It is to go somewhere.

This pic is of the dish setup by the Direcway tripod. The dishtv tripod is 60" tall and its a problem. Where to store it on a perment basis. The dish we can take apart and put behind the couch or even in the drawer under the couch. The tripod is a different matter. We have looked at putting it on the front of the dolly or in with the spare tire or even on the backside of the ladder. Hmmmmm!

When the installer gets here, he will show us how to get it working and also get us activated. In the mean time, our weather forecast is 85 with 30% chance of rain. Here the rain forcast is 100% afternoon-late evening sprinkles with thunder and pitter-patter on the roof.

Temp: 52 this am, 73 with pc skies. Going to be a good day.

Monday

The updates are a little slower coming and may be slow in the near future. Its the afternoon rain and not much to say. It rained sunday sfternoon late thru the night till this morning. We are having late afternoon and evening showers as we speak. Makes going anyplace difficult. Especially on the gravel, all weather roads.

We did go get directv today. We got the new receiver, dvr and tripod. We brought home the rec and tripod but will take the tripod back, no place to store it. We will use the tripod only when the king-dome is behind trees and can't get a signal. We will keep the dish and make a way to use it as well as store it. We will probably disassemble it and store it till we need it. Its real easy to put back together, 4 screws. And it fits behind the couch. No place to put the tripod. Cost so far is $107.90 with a return of the tripod to follow. Oh, the tripod is 5 foot tall.

The installer will be here tomorrow and bring all we dont have, wires, dvr etc. I will have him show me how to setup the dish, aim and get tv. We have been without tv for 4 weeks this time and for some of the time since we left Weatherford, TX. Gets knida boring without it. And we have no cell service to boot.

Our King-Dome works like a champ. I will need to go on top and grease the places tht need to be. Will need to read the "lit" first to know how.
