This is the 8th day before Christmas

We had a very event free day. We got up at 8:15 and checked our email, and read the news. After all that, we had breakfast of cerael, biscuit and oj. Somewhere around 9:00 I got the clubs out of the suv and got ready to golf. I did take time to clean the clubs from the day before.

Called my golf partner, Jerry, and took off for the course in the golf cart. We teed off, the two of us, at 10:30. I told Jerry we were playing from the back , black, tees. The first hole is a par 3 with the front tee at 140 yards and the back tees at 175. A world of difference in club choice.

The wind came up around 11:00 and it was a gale. Atleast a two club blow. Into the wind, 140 yards was a 6 iron. With the wind it was a 8 or nine iron. And the wind was a cross vs into or to our back. It was a fun day. if you play golf, you play in the wind. When we get to Quartzsite, AZ golf will be a distent menory. Once we leave there its probably to NV and a park to stay till March and into UT we go.

We got till the 27th so its golf, sightseeing, and repeat.

Light Beginnings, Nineth day before Christmas

Our try at the Christmas lights. We took about a dozen shots and this is the only saveable one. The rest were blurry.

Most of the streets are lighted with a theme. We will get it right tomorrow night and post them. They are pretty.

The best is the "moving" tree. A guy mounted a rod on his golf cart and made the whole thing into a tree.

The 10th day before Christmas

The morning picture. We have had fog warnings for several days but this is the first morning we actually got it.

No rain in the last 36 hours, maybe the golf course will get a lot drier. It has been to wet to play. I will drive over this morning and check it out.

Hopefully the manager did not water too.

Laundry, rugs, sweep, mop, vacuum day

Got the rugs beat out side, Vacuum the floors and mopped the kitchen and bathroom. Did all that yesterday afternoon. Today is laundry day. And so far there has been three loads, small though, done. The fourth is in the dry cycle. Then its towels and sheets left.

This is not a golf day, need to let the body rest. The clouds are still here, low was 58*, and its 68 now. The forecast was for this but the high of 78* is a reach with no sun. But it is still nice. Beats the weather where most of you are. DW is in 65* back home.

Tomorrow is find a barber shop. My last cut was in Benbrook before we just left. I will ask around and see where the guys here go. I will pick her up tomorrow afternoon after a week away. I will also finish what there is to wash. So far if it were to put it all in a regular washer, it would add up to a load plus the sheets. Right now the washer is drying a pair of jeans and a sweet shirt. That is a load for this Splendid 2000. For the two of us, it is about $8 a week at a coin laundry. And you get what you get, YUCK. And in went to towels.

Anyway, not much to say. Our viewers have gone from 66 to 55 since we moved here. The 55 is todays number. Atleast we got someone reading the blog. So thanks to those few.

Its a Golf Day

The day started out with overcast, 58* and a hope for better. I got up at 7:00 am and got worried. This is suppose to be a golf day. Yesterday was not, it did get to the low 's though with some light rain. Just a drury day was yesterday. Could be worse, no golf at all.

But today was it. Got breakfast, dishes done, trash out, cat food and water in and it was approaching 9 am. Time to go. The clubs are in the suv for safe keeping. Got them out and into the cart, shoes and off we went. Cheapest golf here. Cost me $22 for 18 holes.

Teeded off at 10:06 and with a partner in another cart, off we go. Four and a half hours later we are done and to the house and food. Had a good time even though the course had a lot of standing water. It will be several days for it to dry up.

When the DW gets back wednesday, we can search for another park to stay in next year. I dont consider $300-$350 to be out of line. I do think $500-$600 to be out of line. that is the rates for Jan, Feb and Mar, 07. Plus electricity. So we will look for another park.

In the mean time, lets go have fun and enjoy this retirement lifstyle we chose.
