Friday

We went to the Dr today and we have an eye infection with the allergies. Seems I got the eye infected. We are on hold with any visitation and travel till this is fixed. Still have not been able to see my dad or brother.

There will be no postings till this is over. My good eye is questionable and we put a patch on the left eye so the cream will hopefully work better. This is still better than last year when I had angina when we came here.

Check back daily for updates and lets see when it happens.

Thursday and a NEW Location

We have moved! We left the Cochiti Lake area because of my allergic reaction to some of the weeds and grasses growing there. My eyes are very swollen, watery and itchy. We left about 11 am wednesday and drove to Roswell, NM for the night and then to Lovington this morning. We came by Tatum, NM on US380 to check on the fuh parking there. It does exist.

The info on Tatum is on the picture links page.

It is raining here. The temp got to 94 this afternoon prior to the rain. It has cooled off very nicely.

We will be here till probably monday morning and leave for home.

Temp: 64 with rain.
Mileage: 337 from parking space to parking space.
Gas: $2.69.9 at the I25 exit to the Cochiti Reservation. We will get gas in Hobbs, NM for the trip home.

Tuesday

Here is the left side of the space. The elec box is in view and the water hydrant is visible.
All the native grasses are present and in full growth.

More of the coyete. The lady went to the shower and this fellow followed her. A second coyete came on the scene and helped himself to the food she had put out.

The residents here walk their dogs late in the evening and saw them. The coyetes backed away and were not a threat.

My feelings on this are that she will get them to friendly with the top of the food chain, us, and they will then be killed. There is plenty of food for the coyetes to find and kill.

In the mean time, I'll take pics of them and post here for us and you to enjoy.

Temp: 56 this morning, 78 forecast high with clear to pc skies.

Monday and a New Campground

Take a close look at this pic. What do you see here? Yep, just what we saw as it happened.

That is a woman living in a small TT by us. Shirley saw her approach the animal and got her binoculars while I ran for the camera. She is feeding it.

"IT" is a wild coyote! By its self it is afraid of her. But, get several together, they may not be.

Just how smart is this?

A back, side view of our new space with a covered table. The entrance is a bit small. There is no place to park the car except in the space as shown.

It was a 19 mile trip to get here and as the crow flies, it can't be more than a mile. Unless the RV can float, its a 19 mile trip.

There it is or was, the last place we parked before we moved.

It is a dry, desert high country as you can see. As you can see it doesn't rain here very much.

A front view of our space. Its all gravel as well as the roads. The native grasses are allowed to grow in the space. One space has the grasses around the table making it unusable. The electric boxes are oddly placed. Some are at the front of the entry, some at the mid poit (like ours) and some at the back. We have a 30 foot cord and we are nearly to the front of our space to connect to the box. The water is as bad if not worse. We connected with a 50 foot hose, probably need 40 feet, and had to walk in the grasses to get there. We have 25 and 50 foot hoses we carry and use when necessary. Most places we camp, we use our 10 foot and the 5 foot on the standup filter. I dont have more electric cord. This is the only second time that we have needed more than 30 foot. These posts were fence post at one time.

Who ever designed this place knew nothing about hook ups for RV's. With the budget cuts over the years, here is the evidence of what a lack of money will do. The place could use some serious care and maintance.

Temp: 48 this morning, 74 now with a forecast high of 78 with pc cloudy skies, scattered rain.

Sunday

A way over there is where we are going monday. the location is to the left of the road going down the the water and boat launch. Its not as nice but good for a week at $6.00 with card. Otherwise its $12.00 for those younger and without a card.

There is some good fishing per the park attendent. There are pics on the entrance shack.

This guy was below our window on our slide. He was eating the green leaves on the plants. DW got the camera and took two pics. He heard her open the window but stayed.

Not much going on. Its a fairly packed house here. There are lots of tenters below. We have most of our area with campers.

Temp: 55 this morning with a forecast of 85. Right now its 68 with mostly clear skies.
