Saturday

And the new microwave/convection oven. Its the same as what we had just new. That way there was no modification of the supports etc. This one has a readable display which we sorely needed on the other but did not have. Now we can use all the features.

Hopefully, this one will do popcorn which the other coudn't.

Nothing new about the table and chairs. With our moving tomorrow toward Ancira, that is on hold. After the rv work is finished and my Dr appointment is taken care of, we can finally do other things. Our list is really complete. The new list has thing we can do later as time and location permits.

And Charlyn, I did the dishes this morning. DW went to meet her sister and have a girls day out. While she was gone, I got two light fixtures changed and a bulb in a third. Blew the fuse, 12v, for the shower, changed that. The rain changed my washing of the rv roof. So we will go to Ancira with it dirty and tree leaves and such.

This is probably the last post till next Wednesday or when the rv repairs are finished. We will be coming back to the COE campground for another 11 days. Then its south. I will re schedule our 1000 trails thing till the following week. The 4th-6th is not good for us. Maybe in all this we can figure out what to do with the booth dinnette.

We will catchup with the comments and email next week.

Friday and The Suv is Done

This is the before pic when we had just gotten the suv. It was still full of gas, clean, smelly and all that.

Well, all that has changed. No, we did not have a wreck, run out of gas (filled it up and 25 mpg), or anything along that line.

There is the latest addition. Yep, its got tow plates and the connecting bar for the tow bar.

Its a little scratched. but some bright finish black paint will fix that. A little emery cloth to get rid of some of the rust, paint and it will be like new.

The RV is ready. The Roadmaster "Falcon 2" is already mounted and ready to hook up. We need to get new chains and a brake in the suv. Thats all we lack. The old chains have broken wires.

We will go to Ancira on monday morning for rebuilt jacks, new material over the slide covers and windshield repair. While all that is going on, we will price the brake for the suv and get 3 new clearance lights, 2 red and a yellow.

We have a new micro/convection which I will post tomorrow. The one we had, the display was not readable. Cost of repair was half the new one. Our list is finished. Our new list has the items above. We are about ready to travel. However, it will be 2 weeks before we can travel. We will do a 1000 trails thing the 4th-6th at Lake Whitney. Be our first "high pressure" sales thing. And no we are not buying, just visiting the lake and a round of golf at The Cliffs. Get to try out the new driver.

We will move Sunday morning. And we will not post again till probably Wednesday afternoon.

Thursday and its Raining

We are getting some light showers and sprinkles. This started this morning about 9 am. Our plans for outside activities are on hold. We are doing our inside activities, defrosting the fridg, washing clothes, vacuuming the floor and blogg update.

If you haven't checked out the new blog from Charlie60, please do so. Its a real shame what a man, Mike, will do when his wife, Charlyn, has him well trained, I mean WELL TRAINED. And look at their coach, A Provost! Even if its a '90 model, its still pretty as the newer ones. The name is TAD. Just kidding guys!

Our neighbors, Ron and Sandy were out walking yesterday morning about 7 am. They get up early. And as they were walking they saw the deer in the photo. I just love the color of them. He takes the camera along waiting for the mountain lion to show again. Maybe he will get luck and get a pic that I can post. There are three, yes 3 deer in the photo. Can you see all of them?

We are seriously considering replacing our booth dinnette with a computer desk, 30" round table with a drop leaf and two chairs. We saw one like that at the rv show and one without the desk. We really liked it. Our coushions are wore out and the money it will take to re-cushion the seats is about the cost of the table and chairs. We will do some shopping and see what we will find. I will post before, during and after pics of the project.

TILT!

Well, we it a road block. We have a 120v outlet above the table at 28" to the bottom of the cover. The table is 30" to the top. And we can't shorten the table or move the outlet. The desk can be 27" to 32" tall to fit under the window opening covering. And the table has to be 30" max in the seating direction which is 76" lg from the slide wall to the couch. I'll repost the pics tomorrow sometime of the area so the problem is visible. Tomorrow is the day we have the suv setup to tow, the tow plates are installed and a rear hitch is also installed, and the suv is wired.

Tuesday

Its been a busy day. Helped my DW's parents get their satelite tv installed. Took a while but its done. Had trouble with one receiver getting it to work. The woman at customer service kept working at it till it finally stayed on.

Now, I have a reguest of my readers whom are knowledgable of trucks. Our RV friend George is needing work done on his 91 Ford class c. Take my link to him and read his blog and send him email as to some experienced or expert advice. I really think he is about to be taken by the local shade tree shop. Be sure to tell him you came from this blog so he will have some level of comfort. I would truly appreciate this.

We are getting our list whittled down. We have an off day tomorrow. But we have some rain possible for thursday. I may go to the dealer and get my wind noise fixed tomorrow vs thursday. On friday, we will have the suv tow plate installed along with the hitch and wiring of the suv. Parts are in. She/he will be ready to be towed, finally. With the dolley sold, and rv work on the 25th, its just in time. And to Lake Whitney for a 1000 trails dog and poney show for three days.

We will have to be here thru the first week of October for sure. No leave date planned as of yet. I still got to find a time to see my son's kids. I haven't kept up with DW's schedule but she is busy with Dr and eye exam. My turn at the Dr is next wednesday. The rv is suppose to be finished the 26th.

Monday

It rained all day Sunday. We got remenets of the John from Mexico. Have not heard how much we got here but it was a inch maybe.

Todays chores are done except one. The one is that a buyer of a new auto can not get the tags. State law from the court house. I called my salesman and asked him to tell the "dingbat" over there this so it will not happen to someone else. It was a 40 mile round trip.

I moved the golf clubs, practice balls to the suv. The car still has the tow bar part to attach to the plates. The suv is scheduled to be done friday. And I will take this part with me and attach it so it will be out of the way. We are getting close, less than 2 weeks to go, maybe.

I am spoiled rotten and soon DW will be when she parks her car in the garage and drives the suv. When we had the lincoln mark VIII, she went "zoom, zoom". With this Vue and its V6, she will go zoom, zoom" again. It is peppy.

Sunday and The "VUE" Pics

The "Vue" from Saturn, not the planet. Its our new toad. Next stop is tow plate, rear hitch and license plates. Now if I can get Shirley Gail to drive it.

We decided to go with the suv vs the Ion for room. We have this cat carrier, two set of golf clubs, a satellite dish and probably other stuff to get out of the car and into the suv.

This extra storage room will be nice to have without packing the inside. This will be our only vehicle to sightsee with when we leave this area.

First chance I get is a coat of wax. The rv has been over a year without a wax job. Its time for both to get "pretty" again.

Hope to see you on the road again so stay tune and lest see where we go next.

Now for the good news. The tow dolley is SOLD!!!

Hope I got enough to get the suv done.

Any suggestions on a brake for the suv?
