Saturday

Here is where we are going. Its nice and green! The nearest grocery and laundry is Espanola. There is a laundry west on the local rd. See our posting way back for more.

There is a super wal-mart in Espanola. And good food priced right, not like it is here in Pagosa.

There are rabbits, hummingbirds, fishing, and sightseeing. See ya there later.

These are cropped pics from the ones I took. These and the other pics have been uploaded to the hummingbird folder in our pic links. Go to the pic link for to June as that is where the folder is.

The group pic looks like planes awaiting to land. The birds do like the sugar water DW made. They didn't care if it was red or clear. They better eat up as it is coming to an end.

Friday

More of our hummingbird pics. These are the "raw" pics. I will do a crop on them and upload them to our hummingbird file in webshots.

Our current schedule will put us "home" on 9/15/06. Keep up with our postings for updates as we travel. Home will be Benbrook Lake Bear Creek and Holiday Park COE, Fort Worth, TX.

This date is based on there being cooler temps there. We will have our appointments made by then, cell service you know, and see our families. Further plans will include moving to east of Dallas for a couple of days, then to SA for a couple of days. After we visit our families, its off to a winter spot and work till next March when we will be off again. Of course, gas prices affect all this too.

Thursday

Rain started late and stopped around 11 pm. I really believe the monsoon season is starting. We will leave by the 22nd if not earlier.
Its a cool 70 now at 11:30 am with clear skies. The breeze is cool and nearly cold. A real change for most of you out there in the heat.

The first pic is a view of the river at the visitors center in town. We are looking back to US160 with the walk and two of the hot springs in view. The river is a draw for the tubers coming thru. The water is not deep but it is fast and probably cold. And muddy after a rain.

The second pic is of our trip to the pass. This is looking down on the valley below. The valley is about 8500 feet. There is writing there if you look closely. Do you see it? It says rv park and cabins.

The last pic is of the river here at our location. The river is on the other parks propery. The bridge is a rated load bridge. Not a problem for the heavy diesels to cross.

Forecast for today is 45 and 64 with isolated showers.

Please see and sign in on the map link. For you that are full time, there is a way to move your location as you travel if you wish. This is a world map, so you that are out of the USA can sign in with your country and it will be listed. You dont even have to use your real name, just make sure its not one we will have to delete. We have six as of this morning.

Wednesday

And this is the river we have talked about. This is also the other park. We are by the mountain in Acres Green when you drive in.
IE, stay to the left.

We have added a "Buddies Map" for our viewers to sign in. Look above the clock and visitor count meter for the link.

This will tell us and everybody else who, where and why you came here. Please add your blogg if you have one so all the visitors can go to your blogg.

Thanks for visiting our blogg and stay around for our near daily postings as we travel. We will be moving on the 22nd and start heading to Hobbs, NM first to see my dad and then to Fort Worth, TX for our yearly Dr and dental appointments and see Shirley's parents. Hopefully this year we are able to do more than stay in a hospital.

Temp: 76 with pc skies. We had rain last night and some this morning. Low was 53.

At 8:30 pm, rain, rain, temp is 62

Tuesday

Access view from above showing the "two" parks. One park is by the river and the other park is by the mountain. We are parked just the other side of the building you see, in the park by the mountain. There are lots of Texas people here. There is even a park model here of Texas folks. With the weather we have had, no wonder they come here. Just wish the food was worth eating at the prices they charge. About 2x what it should be and 4x what it tastes like. Example: fajitas for two, $28.00 plus tax.

This is a ranch on the way to/from town. One saturday several weeks ago, the wind got up and blew the barn down. Thats a real mess. But still a nice ranch though.

With the difficulty uploading pics, this blog update will be slow in coming.

Monday

And it rained all night. Nearly constantly thru the night. The cat slept with us as he was scared or cold. He slept on Shirley's side and kept her awake.

Two more pics of our trip down the gravel road. Another meadow in the distance. There were lots of meadows much prettier than these we did get but were hidden by the close trees. Hence, unable to get a pic of it without the trees.

And a really nice stand of aspen trees. There were lots of them but most of them were to far away or too close to pic. These had a meadow by the road.

We did go to town and get gas, groceries, and stop by dtv. The sat signal finder for the dtv was not there yet. Hopefully it will be soon.

No day trips planned with the rain we have, and if it continues, in the days ahead. We will try to get pics of something interesting if there is a chance. We do have to go to the vet tomorrow for cat food and we will take the camera in case.

Temp: 76 and cloudy with some sprinkles.

Sunday

I keep telling everybody that we get lots of rain. Well, here is a pic of it this morning at noon. Its early today. This is a view out the door and kitchen window.

It quit raining mid afternoon, skies became partly cloudy and it warmed to 80.

We got to go out to eat at 5:30 with pc skies but clouds coming in

By early evening the rain stared again.

Temp: 72 with pc/cloudy and rain.
