Saturday

We went to the store this morning. On the way we stopped by the Directv place to see about getting tv (closed or not yet open), washed the car, returned and got new movies (remember we have no tv at all, $7.99 for the cheap ones), and got gas, $35.00. All this between 10 am and 11:30 when we got back.

Our Wall-Mart list is growing so we will be making a trip next week. But we have to have a check first. Seems the bookeeper says we are about over budget. No eating out, no spending money. But we did pay our rent for another month here. We now have 30 days from tomorrow till we have to move again. We will be looking for cool weather when we do. I want to go thru Hobbs on the way.

I have been keeping up with the events in the middle east. I found a blogg from Lebanon that I read daily. I was posting comments on it but I stopped. Go to Lebanon for news inside this country. I am looking for one in Israel but have not found one yet. Interesting as to the comments to his postings. Views from different people from different cultures.

Temp: 85 at 2 pm, pc skies with a chance of rain. 52 this morning.
Temp: 78 at 3:15 pm with scattered rain. And we got 30 more days of this!

Saturday

We are still a stay in family today. Yesterday was recover time for me. I have to take longer to bounce bask now. Age and health have a lot to do with it and then add in the altitude. DW has her usual headache and is reclining on the sofa. She will be over it in a day or two. I tried to get her to go lie on the bed but she said that she would have trouble sleeping tonight if she went to sleep. So she is sleeping, cat napping, on the sofa.

We are getting off and on sprinkles. Has been doing this since this morning. We are still getting our afternoon showers. Hopefully this will continue for a while longer. It does cool the air. Right now it is 86 on window. The temp for Alamosa on the weatherbug is 83 with possible rain at 40%. It was 53 this morning. Really nice and cool. Sorry for you in that heat wave. Been there and done that, 1980.

DW did give me orders, we are over budget, dont spend any money till next week when our check arrives. Therefore, we will eat in, surf the internet, take walkes, eat in, etc. You get the idea. We will have to go to the store to get water and gas. We are drinking bottled water. I'm sure the water here is good, but its well water and neither of us like to drink it. The last good water we put in the tank was in Aztec, NM. That was processed city water. The water at Lakewood was no drinkable, Conchiti Lake and Abiquiu Lake were both well water and we did not drink it nor fill the tank. Somewhere between Alamogordo and Aztec, NM we got some water that did not like us. Both of us go upset tummies with DW getting the worst of it.

Not much to say except it sure is a pretty place. Recommend this area anytime. Cool summer days with cooler nights. Infact the nights require a light blanket. She is sound asleep now. More tomorrow if we both are doing ok.

Temp: at 4 pm it was 92, at 5 pm 68 with rain.

Thursday

Did you miss us yesterday? Sorry for the no update. I played golf and DW stayed home. She did go to town and take care of some things. The golf was fun, since I had not played since last Sept. But I was and still am a bit sore. At $42 and change for a twlight tee time. It is expensive. Cant afford to play very often.

I am also 7 months from surgery as of today. The left wrist gets tender from twisting as you expect it would. Other than that, I'm doing fine. If only I could breath. And it's not just me, there is a few others having trouble at this altitude.

We are going to have some spaghetti for lunch. So, I got to go as its time to eat.

Temp: 83 so far for the high, low was 55 this morning. pc skies with a possibility of rain.

High today was 87.

Tuesday

These are from our trip Monday. See the dialog for more.

A field of flowers we found on our trip

And its not a turkey along the road.

Speaking of the raod, here is a one lane part and it got even marrow later on some of the portions of the "less traveled" roads.

Its a lovely day for a ride. We did see some valleys like this one. Some were even further down too. But all were just as spectacular.

Temp: 84 at 3 pm with pc skies.
Temp: 80 at 4: 15 pm with pc and threat of rain. We are going to the movie!

Monday

We are deciding what to do. And the winner was the trip along the Plumtaw-Piedra Loop road. We did go up in elevation, way up. We looked for the turkey, elk, deer (saw one but not here), grouse. We took maybe three pics and the rest of the time we were in the trees.

The road is suitable for all vehicles. Even our cavalier. And it does get narrow, to one lane. The road is gravel and as its called here, all weather. Really specticular views thru the trees. Just so many trees to see thru. We had lots of pine and spruce. Lots of diferent colored flowers, meadows of them. Once we got down we went to the City Market and got water and milk. And some shoe cleaner and white shoe polish for the golf shoes. Wednesday at 3pm is our golf outing with Pete, Deen and Deens friend. Deen wants to pair with his friend and I'll be with Pete. Going to be fun.

Temp: 90 at 3 pm, forecast was 85. 49 this morning.

Our power outage-
seems my neighbor found out that a truck hit a pole near 84 and 160 and broke the pole and he died. We were out of power from 3 am to nearly 8am. I had the solar turned off for 120 volt to keep from draining the batteries. Our batteries keep us with power and the solar panels on top charge the batteries.

On another subject, I found a blog from Lebanon that reflects that side of the conflict. Just something for you to consider. I'm looking for a blogg from Israel to get their side of the conflict.

Sunday

We are going to church this morning at 11 am. We will be trying a different church than DW did last week. We want a more "traditional" service than the more upbeat type. Therefore we have no pictures for you this morning and we will have to see how the day goes. I am going to the range this afternoon and hit some golf balls again. Last time was a warmup to see if I could. This time is a bit more serious and see how well I can hit them. I got 100 yrds from the pitching wedge, this time I would like to see if I can get the 120 yrds use to get. Will work more with the longer clubs too.

Lets see what the day brings. We were out of power during the night. More on this later.

Temp: 50 for a low, 74 at 9:45 am
Temp: 92 at 3:50 pm. Going to be a warm one.
