Saturday

We were suppose to have gone to town yesterday. We had ordered from DTV a satellite signal strength meter. And it was to arrive friday. I emailed the office and got a reply that several boxes had arrived. No mention of a meter. So we did not go to town.

Our next trip to town means getting gas for the car. And we need to get bread and probably a few other things. Town is 10 miles plus probably 5 to the store and gas. We are able to use our Kroger card and get store discounts and 0.10 off a gallon of gas when we spend a $100 in a month. Gas is $3.029 then. Otherwise its $3.099 with a 0.03 discount.

These two pics are of the stand of aspen trees we saw on our last day trip. There were several stands which we took pics of and have posted in our links.

Another of the log homes we saw. As usual they are a long ways off and we show the closeup.

It rained late yesterday afternoon and all night. I mean it rained, not heavy but near steady rain. This mornings temp here was 55 at 6 am. Neither of us got lots of sleep. With the patter of rain on the roof and it was cold. I'm not really complaining, now don't get me wrong, it was 103 in Texas. It may have reached 75 here.

Temp: 68 with more rain forecast and the high of 75.

The clouds are gathering. Its 78 at 3 pm and it sure looks like rain.

Thursday

We finally got to post some pics. About time blogger!

I thought I'd put a pic of the front of the coach for ya.

Why"? Just cause.

The fan is for those warmer days. The elec heater you dont see is for the evening shower and night time chill. It does get cool over night.

We saw this log home coming back from our last trip. This is the closeup view. DW took it from a long way off.

And yesterday afternoon I went to the door and saw this. I yelled to Shirley to come look. It was our first rainbow while we have been here. You got to look close for it. As others can attest, it clouds up and rains, or sprinkles, most every afternoon. Any plans to go are done in the morning. We don't go down the gravel roads when its been raining or going to.

Temp: 49 this morning, 78 on our thermometer at noon. Forecast high is 75. We have 18 more days of this.

Wednesday

This is the temp at 10 am this morning. At this time of the day it is 78 with mostly sunny skies here at our location.
We will be here for a little while and then we will head south, probably to Abiquiu Lake first and then further south to Hobbs, NM.
We may make a stop at Ruidoso, NM while its cool there but hot most every where else.

There may be more comments here re the mideast situtation. There is a blogg I watch and do comment on when it is approporate to do so. The blogg is noted in prior posts.

Tuesday and We Took A Day Trip

This is at 11:30 am this morning.
See. I ain't lying to ya!

We took a trip today up Blanco Basin Road, CR326, for about 12 miles till it turned muddy from this mornings rain. This is one of the many driving trips you can take when you are here. With our highway tires and city car, this is not the place to be when it rains.

As you can see, I caught DW out of the car doing one of her favorite things, gathering flowers. She wanted some purple ones and we stopped a couple of times till she cut about 6 of them.
Dont tell her I got this pic as she said very sternly, no pics!

One of the many valley's up there. Not sure how high we were but my lungs said we were high enough and time to go back down. The drives are just specticular. I know lots of you will tire of these pics but the scenery is just specticular. I didn't post very many but they are in the links.

Temp: 78 at 12:45 pm with pc skies and a cool breeze. We will be here 3 more weeks last sunday.

Monday

Its been a cool three days, cloudy and some sprinkles. Our forecast includes the possibility of flash floods from 3 pm thru the evening. So far all we have had is cloudy with sprinkles. Glad we are up atleast 5-6 feet above the river.

We did take the DVR back today and exchanged it for a receiver. Without a land line the DVR will not record a seperate channel. This saves us $200 and the monthly fee. Its nice to have tv after not having any since we left Cochiti Lake except for two nights at Aztec, NM.

Now we have tv in front and tv in back. DW and DH are happy. We have a 12 month comentment.
