Saturday and a NEW SUV

We got up this morning and left to go car shopping in Hurst. On the way the phone rings and our salseman, Chris Ross, from the Saturn of Arlington said they came down to my price. We got our Vue for $2250 off MSRP. We bought a red with grey interior and most of the whistles and bells. This is my first new car since the 66 Mustang. I bought mostly 2-3 year old used and saved a bundle, never got a lemon, and kept them for 10 years. DW bought her the 94 Cavalier. So its been a long time for both of us. As we said on the 94, sure hope its a good one. See the Saturn websight for all other info. Oh, what is that gosh awful "smell" inside of it? I was real impressed with the quality of the Saturn's we looked at, including the Ion.

I'm editing this to say the suv we bought did not come with the 17" tires/rims. We took the 16" instead and changed suv to get the side surtain airbags. Most everything else is the same.

Next step is to get the tow plates installed and a hitch on the back for the bicycles, if my Dr says ok on the 27th. DW brought the tow bar over and its installed. We will need new safety cables as these have worn at the thimble and we have some sharp wires sticking out. Everything is going together just fine. Hope to get a few days of "no chores" to do soon. The list is down to 12 items.
One more Dr visit Monday and DW should be done. Then its RV fix and my Dr. We are tired of running and gunning.

Temp: 94 with pc skies, rain in forecast for tonight and tomorrow.

Friday

Its friday afternoon, DW has gone shopping with her mom on a "girls day out". No news on the new vehicle, atleast no call from the sales guy. I guess their not going to deal. We are seperated by $1500. I would agree and suggested to meet half way. No deal from them. Sooooooo, we will go to another dealer and see if they got the vehicle and would they be willing to make a deal. I would love to tell the sales guy Chris that we bought the car from his competition. Maybe, maybe!

I'm betting you'all are just dying to know what we are looking at, RIGHT!

Well, its red, and suv. How about another clue.
Its got pw, pl, hvac, at, v6, front buckets, am-fm cd, compass, os air temp,
automatic headlights, dimming rear view mirror, full size spare,
cruise, power driver seat, heated driver and passanger seat,
17" tires with alloy rims, On-Star for a year,
car phone (Cingular like our cell), and all this is standard
with the standard price and with an $1195 upgrade package
with fog lamps and a leather package.

The sticker is over $20k. And its flat towable.
Its a V.... Got a guess!

DW is on the way home and we will go shopping this evening. This is my first new car since the 66 Mustang and DW's now 94 Cavalier. More later if anything happens.

And nothing happened.

Temp: high here was 95, pc skies.

Tuesday

Its now late in the day, about 7pm. We went for burgers, fries and shakes for dinner. High today was 86, its 84 now. We had rain overnight and into the very early morning. Turned out to be a nice day.

Tomorrow is dentist day for both of us. Me for x-rays and her for cleaning. We are free till monday Dr appointment for her. Then its a week to the 25th for the RV shop, And my VA Dr on he 27th. Hopefully its done and we are thru till next Oct.

Nothing new on the car looking. We will look at the Chevy and then Saturn and then.... So far Ford is out, no tow ables for us. I will pick up our tow bar soon and have it in place and ready to work.

We will go to the RV show in Ft Wth this thursday. Look and see what is out there. We did see a Damon with a setting area in the back at McClains. Was very nice. Had the tv behind the co-pilot seat. It was around $112k on sale. It sure was nice. Nice bath too.

More as the day progress. Its tuna sandwiches time: aka lunch.

This is our between dential appointments day. While DW washed more clothes, I went to the USPS and mailed the CD's I have address's for, got a haircut at Procuts on US377 in Benbrook, and stopped at Tractor Supply for a new trailer Yellow light. Got back and installed the light and moved the dolley where it can be better seen. Will put ad in Star-Telegram, its for sale.

Monday

Its been a busy day and a busy time here. Today was DW's trip to the dentist. She has her usual "no cavaties". I have my trip wednesday and DW will have her teeth cleaned at the same time. I won't be so lucky. Oh well!

We have scanned all my families photo's going back to the late 1800's. There are over 2000. thats a lot of work, or hours. But its done and the first mailing goes out tomorrow. Look for your in the mail in a couple of days.

After wednesday, we have our next appointment on the 25th for the rv and then the 27th for my yearly Dr appointment. DW will have her checkups next week. Then we are hopefully done and free to go.

Not much to say, its hot here. Got to 96 and its 94 now. Clouds look like rain somewhere around us. Maybe we will get lucky. We were to be here on the 15th but as you should know, we are early. So, we are in the heat. Oh well, could be 100+.
