And Its a Beautiful Sunday Morning

Here we are traveling north from the lake and stopping to take this of the mountains as we approach. The colors are much better here but really show up in the following photos.

This is the same range from a different view. Now the color show up. This area is rugged and pretty. We found that there have been some six movies filed here. I can see why.

This is the sign at the amphitheater that explains the different soils. View the next photo when reading this and it will all make better sence. Its a lot more interesting when you are there verses just being here.

A close up of the amphitheater. Water has darkened the walls. There was no place for anyone to live here as the floor was severly slopped and had lots of broken stones.

We got this critter on the sidewalk. There were many of these as we went to and from the amphitheater. We never saw any sign of a water spring. I guess they get their mosture from the grasses they eat.

Another close up of this ridge line.

Another view of the standing rock formation.

I hope you are enjoying our blogg. The purpose of this is to let our family keep up with us and for the reader to see what we see thru our eyes. We are able to stop with the rv which may not be possible with a car traveler. RV travel as we are doing it and so many others are also is not for everyone. To give up what you have to travel and live full time in an rv is something to think about before actually doing this. We did this trial in 2001 and liked it. We kept up with the forums and got answers and asked questions. Its only when you make this step that you find out if this is for you. Our rv is 36 feet long by 8'6" wide. Probably a net 240 sf of living area. Living in such close quarters can be taxing if you are not prepared. But the fun you can have being able to see what you want and where you want and stay as long as you want is worth this to us. This is one side of the coin.

The other side is to get up at 5:30 am, get dressed and fight the traffic to go to work. I only have one tie and one suit and its for those times when I will have too. I have several pairs of slacks for those times when we want to dress up and go out. Otherwise its shorts and sandels. Dont put yourselves in my place, just enjoy the view.

Comments:
I really am enjoying your blog...I can see by watching you guys and your travels from almost the first day that you started that this is the "future" for us...

One of the things that I have learned from you that I think is a very valueable lesson is to use the outside of your rig as part of your living space...

We have thought about that but seeing you do it is so confirming and encouraging...

My hobbies take lots of room...well, when you are talking about RV space...so I really am interested in the "outside" room...we will pay special artention to that aspect.

We have a guy in a class c outside "weaving" on a loom. We use ours as a back yard patio. The second camp host has a sceened in room. Lots of ideas will come as you see what others do. The screened in room is great in a low to no wind area, if there is such.

Hey, Richard and Shirley,

Your pictures are really good. I love the west. That picture of the rain coming was pretty awesome. Glad you are doing well and out doing some traveling. Take it easy. We are in Red Bay getting some service work done.
