On a Friday at the Auto Repair

These two came down from the hill behind us Thursday evening. We didn't notice them till the cat started growling. As they came closer, the louder his growl. I went back to look and got DW's attention to come look. She ran back to look and forget about her movie.

She went and got the camera and got what pics she could. All the time the cat growled and the deer looked at the cat.

Soon they got shy and begain to go back toward the hill behind us. Getting pics got more difficult. Tom cat continued to growl and we kept looking.

The amount of light shown and actual is quit different. It is really nearly dark. Some of these shots are with the camera setting in the "night" mode. We tried a flash but that didnt work as all you could see were shinny eyes.

The last pic we got before they bolted for the hill and disappeared. Atleast we got something.

I went in town and had a car problem. I need a new alternater. And I need a price for one from a chevy dealer. We have a 4 cylinder, automatic with pb, pl. no pw. I need a check price to see what I should be paying. Anyone wishing to get this and post as a comment would be appreciated. There is no dealer here and Darango is the closest one. Thats a 60 plus mile trip with a dying battery. Our alt is putting out about 12.4 volts. And a price for a new side post battery from Carquest. I had to get one to get home and it was way too much. Will see if there is a store here and get his price.

We are looking at dish tv. Cost vs package is lousy. We will decide after we get the car taken care of. Till then, we are grounded and what ever we get to post will be from the park. If there is no updates, you know why. Remember, we have no cell service so don't call. And it's chicken enchiladas tonight.

Comments:
thanks for the reply. the guy is quoting rebuilt for the dealer price and $300 for the GM new plus $30 labor. I stopped using most rebuilt parts due to the failure rate and added cost to install. usually came out to the new price and only one stop to repair. I use to do most of my own but stopped that with this 94 and the 96 we had. I will probably go to a different place and get another price to see if I should go back. who is your friend and does he have a shop? There is a carquest and a napa parts in town, my choices are slim. I don't have anyway to loosen the tensioner on the belt to get the alt out. its on top so its not difficult to do. and I do have some tools we us.
This shop is Piedra automative. the battery I got from him is $100, twice my cost and its a carquest battery. I've already told him it was to high, he said yes it was. when this is all done I will post on blogg my experience.
and my cell, 817-371-3891, is a no tower till we go to town. we are on US84 south of pagosa at acres green rv park.
